Yes, I have lost my mind. Yesterday was my dad's 82nd birthday. Consequently I ate ice and did not walk or kickbox. I also only wrote about 500 words. Darn. But I had a great time at his party. It is vitally important that you have a great time in life and include the things you love. While I'm at it let's look at some other things I love. I love Jonathan Maberry's book Vampire Universe. It's an alphabetical resource of vampiric creatures from around the world. Yes! I think I've mentioned this book before, but it really is that good. I love the Irish movie Once. It's the story of a street performer who meets a girl, a musician from Czech Republic, and how together they pursue a dream. I love my new Facebook author fan page. I love it so much that I'm inviting romance, urban fantasy, sf, & fantasy authors, you are invited to post book covers & blurbs on my Facebook page http://on.fb.me/krFyDI And what I really love is Bit.ly that lets me shorten my links. Let's recap: I've talked about my goals, a great resource book, a fun movie, my new Facebook page and my author invitation (please, visit and Like me), and a website that offers a valuable public service. There are paid services as well. Tell me about your goals or what you love today. -- Susan

I've been doing fairly well with my goals. I either kickbox or walk everyday--one day I shadow boxed. I've been hitting my 1000 word mark too. But this morning when I got up, I realized that at least half of the words I wrote last night were not going to work. So today I'm cutting 500 words and rewriting. Will I write 1500 words today? Maybe. I doesn't matter. What matters is that I still love my novel, and I'm willing to throw away words to make it better. A setback? Perhaps. If you can look at rain and see growing plants, then it's not a setback at all. It's another move forward. Thomas Edison once said when asked about his previous failed attempts to build the light bulb, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

My favorite quote by Mr. Edison expresses it better. "Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something." I'm off to accomplish something. Ta for now. --Susan

Sometimes life rearranges your goals. That's why I'm writing now rather than later. I went out to walk and only got so far when a family of skunks (very adorable) came out of the driveway of a neighbor. I turned around and ran home. Okay, we met our exercise goal partially by running instead. LOL Satuday I worked on promotions for Nights of Passion blog, where our guests always get first class treatment. I fell a little short of my writing goal. Shadow boxed. I think I learned all of Muay Thai combo 2.
Sunday was a wash. I wrote about 200 words, but that's okay. I went to two great birthday parties and watched True Blood. My daughter, Sarah, who received great gifts gave me a present to celebrate the return of True Blood--two adorable crocheted dolls of

ree

Sookie and Vampire Bill. I've emailed the doll artist about being interviewed for Nights of Passion. I'll keep you posted. They both came with heart beads with tiny vampire bites so I tied them on.

Monday, actually after helping the family and doing errands, I've managed to almost reach my 1000 writing goal.

I think the point of all this to always redirect yourself to the goal and don't forget enjoy life.
